The fund-raising event, dubbed a “swishing party” involved the women swapping good quality second-hand clothes. Organised by mothers of children at Allendale Pre-School, the party was in aid of the group and CLIC Sargent, the charity for children and young people with cancer. And as the mums were given the use of Deneholme, the village’s activity and conference centre, for free, this meant all proceeds – £450 in total – could go to the two good causes.
“The event was such a success everyone wants to do another as soon as possible.”
And as an extra treat staff from Hedz Natural Beauty based at the Allendale Forge Studios, were on hand to offer beauty treatments. The mums are now planning another “swishing” party in the summer.
